McCAIN'S LIBERAL BUDDIES

There they were.  Arnold, Rudy and John.  Acting like they owned the world.  Hooray for Hollywood.  Let's all go hug a tree together.  The friendship coalition.  It sure made me feel good to know that there is such fellowship among Republicans.  I'm waiting for McCain's motorcade to arrive with everyone in a Prius.  It would have been nice if Bill Clinton could have joined them.  They could go on the road as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Now.  McCain could reach out across the aisle and bring Ted Kennedy into their little group.  There's always room for one more.

McCAIN SHOULD ENERGIZE REPUBLICANS TO VOTE FOR ROMNEY

Conservatives are becoming more and more concerned about who will be representing them in the presidential election.  It is obvious that John McCain is not a conservative.  He is a "maverick" good ole' boy from Washington who loves to be loved by the liberal media.  It is not enough to be a war hero.  By the way, who decides what a war hero is anyway?  A Republican should represent something more that what is favored by the New York Times.  When the New York Times endorsed John McCain, that should have been seen as a warning shot across the bow of the Republican Party.  RED FLAG!  RED FLAG!
John McCain is the favorite liberal Republican of the liberal Democrat establishment.  Do Republicans really want the Democrat power brokers picking the Republican Party presidential candidate?  John McCain's victory in Florida should energize Republicans to vote for Mitt Romney.  This is now a two man race.  Guliani is out and Mike Huckabee is going no where except back to Arkansas.  The choice is clear: McCain the liberal darling or Romney, who is the most conservative candidate in the race who can win the Presidency.

HISTORY IS AGAINST McCAIN

The last time that the American people elected a senator to be president was John F. Kennedy.  In the twentieth century the only other senator to be elected to be president was Warren Harding.  We know that the Democrats will nominate a senator, either Hillary or Obama.  Now, do the Republicans want to win?  If they do, then they should nominate a Governor to run for President.  We have an abundance of governors who have been elected President; Bush II, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Roosevelt, Coolidge, Wilson, Roosevelt, and McKinley.   All of these but Bush II were elected in the twentieth century.  However, if the Republicans nominate John McCain then we are sure to have a senator elected to the presidency, and I don't think it will be McCain because there are conservatives who will just not vote for him.  Governor Mitt Romney should be the Republican candidate for President, because he can win.

WHY McCAIN?

Who are the McCain voters?  Are they really Republicans?  They certainly are not conservatives.  Maybe John McCain appeals to the older voters who remember McCain the Vietnam War hero.  Maybe the retired veterans are supporting one of their own.  It doesn't seem to matter that the major pieces of legislation McCain sponsored were failures.  His choice of colleagues is questionable: Feingold and Kennedy.  There could be the possibility that a plurality of Republican voters favor McCain, but do they really want a seventy-two year old moderate to sit in the oval office as President of the United States?

If the choice comes down to either McCain or Hillary, I will back McCain.  However, I can't think of any other reason to cast my vote for McCain.

GEORGE THE IRRELEVANT

George W. Bush is still President of the United States, but who cares?  Perhaps this lame duck should audition for the role of the AFLAC duck.  Maybe then people would pay attention to him.  He is still Commander-in-Chief conducting a war but that seems to be old news.  Last night he waved the threat of a veto to any new tax legislation...yahoo.
The presidential primaries are much more interesting than watching the actual President of the United States.  However, all of the candidates are bit players when you consider that only one man can actually win the election.  Yes, I said "one man."  When the books are written about this election campaign, Hillary will be a foot note.  People will ask the question: "Did we really think that she could win?  What were we thinking?  The American people have more sense than that."
In four or perhaps eight years we will witness another irrelevant State of the Union message delivered by Presdient Mitt Romney.  At that time people will be caught up in the presidential primaries because who cares what a lame duck president says?

LOOK OUT, OBAMA!!!

Barak Obama is the winner of the South Carolina Democrat Primary.  In the days before the primary the Clinton tag team went after him.  Well...if Obama didn't like what they did, he is not going to like what is going to happen to him.  He has proven that he is a winner, so the Clintons will have to bring him down a few pegs.  So, look out, Obama.  The Clintons have many henchmen who long to get back into power with the Clintons, so these loyal dagger men will be cutting at Obama as often as the Clintons tell them to.  Bill and Hillary don't have to say anything themselves because those things will be said by others and leaked to the press by others.  But make no mistake about it.  The Clintons are behind it all.

McCAIN, STALKING HORSE FOR HILLARY

Hillary Clinton would love to see John McCain win the Republican nomination, because she could beat him in a general election.  The New York Times endorsed McCain and Hillary yesterday.  John McCain is a stalking  horse for the Democrat Party.  The Liberals are trying dilligently to get McCain nominated just so Hillary can beat him in the general.  The easiest way for the Republicans to lose the general election is to nominate the Democrat stalking horse.

WHICH DEMOCRAT?

I almost entitled this "Witch Democrat" but that wouldn't be nice.  Acurate perhaps, but not nice.  There are two Democrats in the race.  It will be either Hillary or Barak.  I really feel sorry for Barak Obama because he is feeling the brunt of the Clinton onslaught.  Obama is feeling the death of a thousand knives.  The Clintons have many henchmen who will cut and slash at Obama.  Of course most of the wounds will be to his back, because that is where the Clintons attack most often.
Can you imagine that the United States electorate elected the Clintons twice?  How many times to we have to suffer the slings and arrows of the Clinton machine?  I am fed up with seeing Bill Clinton campaigning.  His wife's name is on the ballot but he thinks that he is the candidate.  This has become a tag team affair with the
Clintons and unfortunately poor Barak Obama thought that he would be facing one Clinton.
I am hoping that Obama does well enough in the primaries to win the Democrat nomination.  He will make United States history by doing so.  It is unlikely that he will win the general election, but it will be such a interesting campaign.  So far, it appears that Obama prefers the high road.  For that he deserves praise.

DO REPUBLICANS WANT TO WIN?

The object of a political contest is to win.  That is the only point that needs to be proven.  So, what do Republicans have to do in order to win?  They have to present the American voters with a clear idea of what Republicans stand for.  The Republican candidate must speak out in favor of tax cuts for individuals and businesses.  He must also speak out for strengthening our borders to keep out illegal aliens.  He must advocate the domestic drilling for oil both off shore and in ANWAR.  The Republican presidentail candidate must also take a strong stand on upgrading and strengthening our military forces.  This should be enough for the Republican candidate to win the election and take command of the White House.
Now, which of the current Republican candidates will do this.  McCain?  No!  Huckabee?  No!  Guliani?  Maybe.  Romney?  Absolutely!
OK, Republicans, do you want to win in November?  Well, guess which candidate will beat the Democrats?  Mitt Romney is the man.  The question needs to be asked again.  Do Republicans want to win?

THOMPSON'S EXIT HELPS ROMNEY

Fred Thompson dropped out of the presidential race today.  There should not be too many people who are surprised by this action.  Thompson's candidacy was interesting because he was a conservative actor, but he was not Ronald Reagan nor did he have the backing that Reagan had twenty-eight years ago.  Although Thompson did not attract large numbers of voters, his absence will help to focus the presidental race for many voters.  Thompson voters will have to select another candidate and that is likely to be Mitt Romney.  Uncommitted voters will also be influenced to make a choice between those who remain in the race by the withdrawl of Senator Thompson.  A large percentage of these uncommitted voters will eliminate other candidates and see that Mitt Romney is their best choice for President in 2008.

ROMNEY LEADS IN DELEGATES

The Republican convention is this summer and a lot can happen between then and now, but right now Mitt Romney is leading in delegates.  There are more primaries to come and many more delgates to be won, but Romney is the clear leader right now.  John McCain will falter as more conservatives vote in Republican primaries.  Fred Thompson talks a good talk, but he will not be the chosen one.  Rudy Gulliani will vie for the same votes that John McCain wants.  The winner will be Mitt Romney for many reasons.  The biggest reason for Republicans to get behind Romney is because he can defeat whomever is selected by the other political party.
Most Republicans do not want John McCain to be their candidate.  He will lose in November.  Fred Thompson may inspire many conservatives, but he will lose in November.  Rudy Gulliani excites some Republicans but he will lose in November.  Mitt Romney will win.  Stick with the winner.

ROMNEY IS THE MAN

Mitt Romney won the Michigan primary.  The Republican base finally had a chance to show who want in a major state.  Mitt Romney is that man.  There were cross-over voters in the Michigan primary who voted for John McCain.  The Democrats didn't have much of a primary selection because Obama and Edwards dropped out.  So the choice for liberals was to vote for Hillary Clinton, Uncommitted or vote in the Republican primary.  So many of them crossed over to vote for McCain.
Romney got 39 per cent, McCain got 30 per cent and Huckabee was a distant third at 16 per cent.  It is interesting to not that Fred Thompson got only 4 per cent of the vote.  Thompson has been sounding very conservative of late, but the conservatives in Michigan voted for Romney.  It is clear that Romney is the standard bearer for Conservatives even if he isn't as conservative as some might like him to be.  Conservatives who want eight more years of Republican control of the White House had better get behind their standard bearer, because Romney is the Man.

McCAIN THE QUISLING

John McCain is a quisling, a collaborator with the enemy.  As I listened to his radio and television ads he listed all of the things that irritate me about the man.  He seeks common ground with the enemy, whereas I want to defeat the enemy.  John McCain is the friend of my enemy.  Thus, John McCain is my enemy.  He is very sneeky, because he tries to appease everyone.  He is a Neville Chamberlain, an appeaser.  I can imagine him dealing with foreign leaders.  He would give away the store just to make everybody happy, when the end result is that no one is happy.  John McCain would lead the United States into an era of mediocracy in the way Jimmy Carter tried to do.

CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY?

Where is the conservative majority?  Since when were Americans conservative?  Which generation are we talking about?  Your parents? Your grandparents?  Your great-grandparents?  Certainly not today.  Not now.  Do you think that those conservatives of yesterday are going to want to give up their social security today?  Fat chance.  So where is this conservative majority?
It is one thing to have conservative principles and another things to implement them.  Politicians live to get reelected.  Well, there is not a majority of voters who will vote to turn the clock back too far.  Fred Thompson may be the darlings of conservatives, but does he represent a majority of American voters?  Remember it takes a majority of those folks to win the White House.  Yes, let's cut back on government spending.   Yes, let's enforce rigid immigration policies.  Yes, let's have tax cuts.  But we have to win the election first.  Not just the White House but both houses of Congress as well.
Who is the man who will lead the Republican Party?  Who is the man who will lead the United States of America for the next eight years.  He has to be more than just the leader of the conservatives.  He has to be the man who convinces a majority of voters to put him in the White House and a majority of Repubicans in the Congress.  The man to do that is Mitt Romney.
There are many conservatives who criticize Romney's conservative credentials.  Well, he was elected in Massachusetts, which is not a conservative state.  However, Romney has a conservative set of core values which he has not abandoned.  Those core values are much more conservative than they are liberal.  He represents the American voter and they will elect Mitt Romney to be our leader.  A leader is someone you can get behind.  So, lead on Mitt Romney.

DEMOCRAT NIGHTMARE

The Democrats have two leading candidates; a black man with little experience and a woman who is disliked more than any other candidate.  Democrats don't want either one of these U.S. Senators to be their nominee.  They want someone who will win, but the voters are not going to choose an inexperienced black man and the wife of Slick Willie.  They don't want Clinton back in the White House.  Once was more than enough.  So, if either of these U.S. Senators is nominated, they will lose.  That means another eight years of a Republican in the White House.  This time his name is  Mitt Romney.
