It has been three months since my last posting and what has changed? Which presidential candidate has sped past the field into a dominant position in either Republican or Democratic party? It reminds me of the old Abbott and Costello baseball routine, "Who's on First?" Remember the line up? Who's on first. What's on second and I don't know is on third. Perhaps Who Care's is at shortstop now-a-days. At least that is the way that I feel about it.
Three months ago I wrote that Mitt Romney would be the Republican nominee. I still think he is on first and I don't care who is second and third. The rest are in left field playing catch with one another. Some people are backing Fred Thompson. Well, he seems to be a nice guy, but his health is a question. Besides the American people want more executive experience than a district attorney on Law and Order.
Rudy Gulliani is a good guy and a good speaker, but when was the last time the American voters elected a former mayor to be president? Never!
John McCain is a weak sister.
Who else is there for the Republicans? Newt Gingrich? Pa-leeeeeeeese!
What about the Democrats? Most Americans are thinking "Anybody but Hillary!" But who are these anybodys? A one term Senator from Illinois. Are we talking about Abraham Lincoln? A governor from Arizona or is it New Mexico? Who cares? Could we possible abide Biden? Wouldn't George Soros or Michael Moore better represent the Democrats? At least they could fund their own movie about the election.
This is going to be a long, long, long, long electoral season. Maybe I'll wait another three months before commenting again. Remember, you can't tell the players without a scorecard.
