New Foreign Policy...Nuke 'Em

It is clear that the Congress of the United States is tired of war.  The House of Representatives has passed the non-binding resolution against the war and now the Senate may do something similar.  President Bush is no longer in the driver's seat.  The backseat drivers have moved up to the front.  Bush may be behind the wheel, but Pelosi is in the other front seat and reaching for the keys to turn the engine off.  American foreign policy is changing and so will our use of military force.
Anti-war congressmen don't want American troops on the ground in Iraq.  OK, what happens now with Iran.  Iran is feeling its oats, because it is clear that the American congress has lost its will to fight.  Russia is looking at Iraq with a keen interest.  Syria thinks it will have its fingers in pie soon enough.  American stragegy will have to change to ward off the threat to our oil interests.  We will have to adopt a quasi-Roman attitude toward other nations.  They will have to treat us well or we will annihilate them.  This will kill many of them, but won't involve us on the ground until the radioactivity levels have lowered.
Actually only one nuclear bomb will be needed...maybe two.
The world will hate us, but then they already do.  At least we will be able to drive our SUV's and pay less than two dollars a gallon.  Oh, yes.  The price of gasoline will drop.  You can count on it.

Treason in the House

The Democrats in the House of Represetatives are on the brink of giving aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war.  That is a definition of treason.  There are a few Republicans who will also cast their votes in opposition to our troops in Iraq.  They are guilty of treason as well.
This so-called nonbinding resolution is an effort on the part of Democrats to destroy the presidency of George W. Bush, but they are also trying to destroy the effectiveness of the United States military.  It is a shameful illustration of ignorance and incompetence.

Al Franken for President

Give Al Franken a round of applause.  He has entered the race to be the 2008 Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate from the state of Minnesota.  Al is putting his money where he mouth is.  Good for him.
Now the conservative talk show hosts will have a year or so to skin Al Franken and hang him out to dry.  I cannot imagine the voters of Minnesota electing Franken to the U.S. Senate, but hey, they did elect Jesse, The Body, Ventura to be governor.  It does promise to be an interesting election.  I hope Al sticks it out to the bitter end...and it will be bitter.
What about Franken for President in 2012, if Hillary doesn't make it in 2008?  Hey, how about Franken for President in 2012 even if Hillary gets elected?

Too many white boys

What is wrong with Duke bastketball this season?  It's simple.  Take a good look at their team.  There are too many white boys on the team.  Look at the average NBA team.  How many home grown white players are there?  Most white players come from foreign countries.   Coach K is going to have to recruit in different neighborhoods.

Embarrassed by democrat party

I'm a senior citizen.  I collect a pension and social security.  The time was when I was a liberal democrat but that changed when I realized what the democrats represented.  I watched the unions pull the strings of the democrats.  I watched the teacher's unions become stronger and stronger within the democrat party.  I realized that I disagreed with the policies of these unions.  I watched as the homosexuals began influencing democrat politicians.  I watched as a democrat president disgraced the office of president of the United States.
I voted for Bob Dole in 1996 even though I knew he wouldn't win.  I just couldn't bring myself to vote for another democrat.  The Republicans aren't perfect and they are not going to take my pension or social security away.  In spite of the congressional scandals involving Republicans I'm going to vote Republican again in 2008.  I am embarrassed by the democrat party.

Castration of America

Well, well.  The Dixie Chicks win Grammys.  This is not a good omen.  Who best represents the will of the American people?  The Dixie Chicks and Hillary Clinton?  What better way to demonstrate the castration of the American Empire?  Symbolism abounds with the nomination of Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama for President and Vice President.  The white lady in the White House and her man servant close by.  Yessiree, there is a lot of symbolism there.

The President's name is Bush.

The next president of the United States will take the oath of office almost two years from now.  The media is so focused upon Hillary and Barak that they have forgotten the man who currently occupies the office.  However, I don't think that George W. Bush really minds the fact that somebody else is on the front page of all the newspapers and television news stories.  It is like we are watching the Australian Open and really think it is important.  Of course it is necessary to win the preliminary matches in order to reach the finals, but the preliminary matches don't begin for another year.  Right now we are watching them practice.
In the meantime the actual power of the office of the presidency resides with George W. Bush.  He is the one who is making decisions that will effect our lives rather then clarifying policy positions to please potential campaign contributors like Mitt Romney is doing.  George W. isn't running for office.  He is running the country.
In case you haven't noticed the Russians are rattling their swords again, but what can they really do?  Well, they can assist Iran and the Iraqi terrorists.  What can Hillary or Barak or Mitt or Rudy do about that?  They can't do squat because they are not President of the United States.  George W. Bush doesn't have to please liberals or conservatives.  Yes, he is a lame duck but he still has the power of the office and he will have for nearly two years.

Great American Empire

What kind of concept do Americans have about the United States?  Most people grow into adulthood, get jobs, and raise families and they expect their children to do the same.  After all that is what their parents did.  What did the ancient Roman families expect?  The young Romans grew into adults and got married, had jobs and raised families.  However, you don't read  very much about that in the history books.  What we read about is the great Roman Empire what ruled for a thousand years.  What kind of concept did the Roman citizens have about their empire?
There were Romans on the edge of the empire who were concerned about marauding hoards, who would sweep onto Roman lands and take what they could.  There were Romans who didn't want their sons drafted into the military, because they didn't want them to be killed or maimed in a war.  There were Romans who hated the corruption in the government where officials lined their own pockets with public money.  There were Romans who didn't like the emperor, but they didn't dare criticize the emperor in public because of fear of reprisal.
The Romans were a lot like Americans in some ways, except Americans don't fear critizing President Bush.  Foreign wars are only popular when the empire wins with little cost of our soldiers' lives.  Foreign wars can pay for themselves if we pick the right enemies.  They must have something worth fighting for, like gold or oil.  Let's see...America has defeated Iraq and Iraq has oil.  Well, well.  It seems the formula works as long as we take the oil.
But  what will people say?  Who cares?  The history books will all comment on the great American Empire that lasted...how many years?

OIL. OIL. OIL

What is our real interest in Iraq?  OIL.  OIL.  OIL.  Not just Iraqi oil, but the oil from the gulf states as well.  There are some in our government who are genuinly interested in people, who want to help the people of Iraq.  Hey, if our government were interested in people, we would be sending troops and supplies to Darfur.
So, let's let the Iraqis decide what kind of government they want.  Use our troops to protect the oil fields and secure a base for the invasion of Iran.  The time will come when we want to protect our oil interests in Iran.  We can also send the bill for this operation to the oil companies.  They are the ones really benefitting from the war in Iraq.

Senator Joe Biden

I feel sorry for Senator Joe Biden.  He's been in the Senate for a long time.  Everytime there is a presidential election year, Joe Biden says he is in the running.  Come on!  When is the last time there was a presidential candidate from Delaware?  Nobody takes his candidacy seriously.  Senator Biden has difficulty when he opens his mouth, because inevitably he will make some kind of mistake.  It happens every time.  So, the reporters listen and wait for it to happen.  Well, it didn't take long this time.  So, we say "Goodby" to another Biden for president campaign.
Now Senator Biden can concentrate on being a powerful majority senator.  Yessir, he can get some really important pieces of legislation passed.  Let's see...what was the last important bill sponsored by Joe Biden?

Political Money Talks

Which group will sit out the 2008 presidential election?  Will the liberals get angy with the Democrat party for nominating a moderate or will the conservatives deside to teach the Republican party a lesson?  At this point in time it appears that the liberal fringe of the Democrat party has more influence than the conservatives in the Republican party.  Just as the liberal Democrats have become more and more left wing. so the conservative Republicans become more moderate.
The key is which group has the most money to put into a campaign.  The Democrat liberals are the ones with the money; George Soros, Barbra Streisand, Ted Kennedy ect.  However, the big money Republicans, the quiet ones with big check books, are tired of so-called moderate Republicans; John McCain and Rudy Guliani.  Hillary knows where the big money Democrats are and she will do what she has to do tap their bank accounts, with the help of hubby and potential co-president Bill.  Well healed conservatives are looking for a candidate.  Their dilemma is whether to endure eight more years of the Clintons or to invest in a somewhat marginal candidate.
The media will let us know which candidate the conservative fat cats have chosen before the Republican Party is anywhere near to coronating their presidential candidate.  Whenever the press gets wind of who the conservative money brokers are backing, that candidate will come under severe fire from the media.  Right now, the Republican candidates are just sticking their heads up to check the lay of the land.  The big money is still silent, but not for long.  Pretty soon, the press will begin lambasting Mitt Romney with every conceivable kind of political mud.  Then we will know that the big money is going into his campaign.
The 2008 presidential race will see Hillary Clinton face off against Mitt Romney.  The money people will have given us our choice to make.

Conservative Mitt Romney

Don't look now but Mitt Romney is picking up support from conservatives who are not too crazy about John McCain or Rudy Guliani.  Senators don't have a good record when it comes to running for President and New York mayors do worse than U.S. Senators.  Romney has been reconstructing his credentials and saying the right words.  He is the former Republican governor of a BLUE state, Massachusetts.  He's a good looking candidate and conservative Republicans might just hitch their wagons to Mitt Romney.  His major problem right now is money, but without other attractive candidates to support, the Republican money sources might open up for Romney.

Build A Wall Mentality

When a nation/country/empire builds wall to keep the barbarians out, then that nation/country/empire is telling the world that it has reached its limits.  When nation/country/empire stops expanding, then it begins to contract.  It becomes concerned about losing what it has rather than advancing and conquering others.  Well, folks, we are seeing the build a wall mentality in this country.  This wall could be on the border with Mexico, or Canada, or security screening at airports and seaports.  We have begun the slide into the obscurity of history textbooks.  Remember that history is written by the winners.  How many history books will we be writing?

God's Authority

Once you have decided that God can have control of your life, then God will act to change your life.  Once you decide that God really is in control of your life and the lives of others, then you can stop worrying about so many things.  One you decide that God has already planned your life then your plans really don't matter that much.  So, relax and let God do what he is going to do anyway.

God Is In Control

God is in control of what happens on this planet.  God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent.  He is all powerful, all knowing and ever present.  All over this planet there are people who are in one kind of trouble or another.  There are people who are starving and disease ridden.  There are people who are being tortured and killed for one reason or another.  There are people who are facing the ravages of weather.  Through all of this I can still say that God is in control.
This is from Isaiah 45: 6-7.  "I am the Lord, and there is no other.  I form the light and create darkenss.  I bring prosperity and create disaster.  I the Lord, do all these things."
This is from Proverbs 3: 5-6.  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
