Which group will sit out the 2008 presidential election? Will the liberals get angy with the Democrat party for nominating a moderate or will the conservatives deside to teach the Republican party a lesson? At this point in time it appears that the liberal fringe of the Democrat party has more influence than the conservatives in the Republican party. Just as the liberal Democrats have become more and more left wing. so the conservative Republicans become more moderate.
The key is which group has the most money to put into a campaign. The Democrat liberals are the ones with the money; George Soros, Barbra Streisand, Ted Kennedy ect. However, the big money Republicans, the quiet ones with big check books, are tired of so-called moderate Republicans; John McCain and Rudy Guliani. Hillary knows where the big money Democrats are and she will do what she has to do tap their bank accounts, with the help of hubby and potential co-president Bill. Well healed conservatives are looking for a candidate. Their dilemma is whether to endure eight more years of the Clintons or to invest in a somewhat marginal candidate.
The media will let us know which candidate the conservative fat cats have chosen before the Republican Party is anywhere near to coronating their presidential candidate. Whenever the press gets wind of who the conservative money brokers are backing, that candidate will come under severe fire from the media. Right now, the Republican candidates are just sticking their heads up to check the lay of the land. The big money is still silent, but not for long. Pretty soon, the press will begin lambasting Mitt Romney with every conceivable kind of political mud. Then we will know that the big money is going into his campaign.
The 2008 presidential race will see Hillary Clinton face off against Mitt Romney. The money people will have given us our choice to make.
